The title for this post comes from the name of the traffic lights at this crossing – 大門踏切前 / Daimon Fumikiri Mae, which translates to “Big Gate / Level Crossing / In Front“. Seriously. Click on each of those phrases in blue if you don’t believe me.

The big gate in question is the entrance to Samukawa Shrine, which is the highest ranked shrine in the region. It’s a very chill place too.
