The Enoden links Fujisawa & Kamakura via a coastal route that gives both those cities access to the little island of Enoshima – hence the name. It’s a charming, old-fashioned trainline, with some really interesting sights to be seen along the way.

Local Sights
There’s very little to be visited around here. You can walk up a bit towards Shichirigahama, find your way through the houses and into a really really large park – Kamakura Hiromachi Ryokuchi – the city website (Japanese only) is here and, if memory serves, you can find a way into the park around about here.
Other than that, there’s an abbey, so you might see some nuns, but I’m fairly sure it’s not open to the public.
Other than that? Well, views of Enoshima & the ocean. You can walk up the hill a bit and get even better views if you’re feeling fit.
Oh and then there’s the one major tourist attraction round here:
All About EN08 Kamakura Koko Mae Station
As mentioned above, there’s not a whole lot to be seen around here. The most popular attraction is most famous for its role in the opening credits to the basketball anime, Slam Dunk – as seen in the video above.

It’s a pretty iconic level crossing that has been in more than just Slam Dunk, so there’s always somebody around taking a picture of it.
Other than this, Kamakura Kokomae is fairly non eventful.
