Across the road from Bradford College on Horton Road, there’s this orphaned door. I say orphaned because I’m fairly sure it opens into a coffee shop called Dunker’s Delight. I do know that there was once a bar here called Motown Rock… but I can’t really find out anything else about it, so instead, here’s a video about how the Motown record label achieved that wonderful sound that is pretty much instantly recognisable:

(Essentially, a consistent process that they just repeated over and over again with an incredibly talented house band who worked with the singers to churn out record after record, day after day – often getting what they needed in just one take. The video above goes into way more nerdy detail about the equipment they used if that’s your jam, but is really interesting even if it’s not.)
