I’m conflicted about zoos. I love to see the different kinds of animals but it often feels like a lot of them don’t seem to be living their best life. This zoo wasn’t too bad, as it turned out.

Most of the animals seemed okay. The monkeys weren’t particularly cheerful looking and the porcupines looked a bit bored. I felt pretty sorry for the condors, with barely enough space to stretch their wings out.

The ones that were good enough to model for me in the pictures above all seemed fairly content. Steve (he’s the penguin in the middle, little bossy) says they get plenty of fish so he’s not too bothered.

Things could be worse, I suppose.
